Tour the Montreal Goldfield!

The Montreal Goldfield, located approximately 7km north of spectacular Bermagui on the far south coast of NSW, offers a great outing for families, coach tour groups and individual sightseers. Follow boardwalks through the beautiful native forest, re-grown since the days of the gold-rush moonscape.

Peer down the vertical mineshafts, secured for safe public access. Time has brought back to life a forest of tree ferns, eucalypts and orchids, inhabited by sugar gliders, possums, lizards and diverse bird life.

Montreal Goldfield will be of interest to global experience seekers, Probus clubs, school groups, geologists, bushwalkers, birdwatchers ... and more.

Guided tours by local historians reveal the mysteries and fascinating anecdotes of times gone by. Tours run daily at 2pm, or by appointment. Admission to the site is by guided tour only.

The track itself is approximately 250m long with 60% wheelchair access and many restful benches strategically located. The tour takes about 1¼ hours and toilet facilities are available.
